GREATER GOOD: Changing the world one shirt at a time ;)

by - December 18, 2010

Went to attend the Greater Good Apparel store launch last thursday together with Ana, Pax and Melai at Mall of Asia. It was my first time to attend a store launch and it was really nice, because the store isn't just about fashion, it has an advocacy as well. :)

The men behind the brand :)
Michael is 19 and Chris is 23. Young yet already making a difference. Amazing!

Entrepreneurs/Cousins Michael and Christian Concepcion always had the passion to spread awareness about poverty, hunger and other social issues to people. So, they thought of introducing graphic t-shirts as a medium to educate people about our present problems. Think of it as walking around with a Greater Good shirt on and reminding the people who see it of what's happening in our country today. The shirts are designed by talented and versatile people like, Arjie Salango, Carlo Tolentino, Louie Paul Jalbuena, Manny Librodo, Kneil Melicano, Kristy Anne Ligones and Raymond Gutierrez. Their concept is sheer genius. Making Fashion not only a mere aesthetic element, but a tool to change the world-"WEAR HUMANITY" :)

Here are some pictures of their store and t-shirt designs...

Aside from being surrounded by the store's good aura, I was also in the company of good friends old and new. I think that's one of the many awesome perks of being a blogger. Meeting new friends. I remember how Pax, Ana, Melai and I became friends. It started at a blogger event too and we built it up from there. :) Love it!

Before leaving the venue, we were invited by the owners to write on their freedom wall and this is what I wrote...

I know it's cheesy, but I don't mind!:)

Before leaving, we were handed their newly launched Eco Bag with a free t-shirt inside!:) I don't wanna reveal yet what the t-shirt looks like, because Melai has photo shoot plans on how the four of us will style it in different ways. ;) (But I assure you, the fabric is nice) Watch out for that!

Even after the event, the blog barkada decided to eat a late dinner at French Baker/KFC and we talked, talked and talked!:) That's what I love about them as well. We never run out of things to talk about. :)

I wanted to experiment on my accessories, so came up with a pink theme! Also, I got kilig with our name tags. Yiiieee!=p
Top: topshop| Trousers: from mom's closet | Shoes: tonic |
Bag: ichigo | Bracelet: charmed life

I really had an awesome time at the event. :) As always I feel really blessed to have been able to experience my very first store launching. Thank you so much, Ana, Mel and Greater Good Apparel for inviting me!:) Can't wait for our next gathering!

P.S.
If you're into designing or even just doodling and you're interested, you can submit your designs to Greater Good and who knows, your design might be chosen as their next shirt line. ;)
