Fruitastic time with your kids!

by - May 17, 2013

Being a mother of two, I guess you can say, I've already mastered different activities that I can do with my boys, especially Athan. But when I received a Mother's Day package filled with juice packets from Del Monte, I realized that Athan and I haven't done a kitchen activity in awhile and since it's summer, why not do a juice-sicles!:)

So now, i'll be sharing with you guys a super easy step by step process on how to do juice-sicles with your kids. :)

1.) Prepare juice packets and ice trays

You can buy these Del Monte juice packets in Orange, Pineapple and Four Seasons at supermarkets. But you can also use any juice drink you prefer. But if you want a healthier option, you can try these!:) For the ice trays with fun shapes on them, I think Landmark of SM might have them in their kitchen tools department. :) The typical ice trays would also do, but I think having different shapes add more fun. :)

2.) Call on your kid or kids to join you!

In this way, you can also teach your kids how to be productive in the kitchen even at a young age. :) It's also a nice break from the world of technology nowadays. So, do plan different one-on-one activities with your kids, so that could learn more.

3.) Open your juice drink/s and pour into the ice tray

For our two trays, I chose to put Four Seasons for me and Athan's ultimate favourite, Orange. :)

4.) Seal with clear film

I would suggest that before putting the ice trays into the fridge that you put some clear film, because you never know what germs that surround your fridge with all the meat, poultry, fish and other cold cuts in it. You wouldn't want your kids to get Salmonella.

5.) Put in the Refrigerator

Last step would be to put it in the ref to freeze for about 1 to 2 hours. :)

And here's our finished Juice-sicles! Taaadaaaaah!!

I don't know if it's clear enough, but spot the apple and strawberry shape!:)

I guess you can call this , De Monte Kitchenomics, and it was super fun!:) Athan kept opening our fridge to see if it was done. :)) He really loves our Mommy and son bonding.

Hope you can also share with me your fun activities with your kids! BTW, adults or you and your friends can do this too! If you want to know what else you can do, go to https://www.facebook.com/DelMonteKitchenomics :)

Enjoy the rest of the summer, everyone!^_^
