Don't Kill The Magic

by - August 21, 2014

I have been so used to blogging almost every single day that four days of not being able to feels like forever! Well, I guess when it comes to outfit posts, I've been neglecting that quite a bit cos I just can't seem to find the time to take my OOTD. Blame the bipolar weather! Anyway, I'm making up for it now. Yey!:)

Truth be told, I haven't been having the best week nor the best feeling. Well, I've been feeling this melancholy for quite some time now, but I just didn't want it to get the best of me. Unfortunately this week it totally dawned on me. So, instead of avoiding it, I dealt with it. I cried a bucket of tears and allowed to committee of sleep to work on it. As in I slept in from night till 5PM. I know that's pretty intense. But I won't deny that it helped me a little. As soon as I got out of bed, I told myself that i'd snap out of my gloomy state and face the day with a better attitude. Today was easier than yesterday and I learned from it.

One thing I learned is that you can't avoid being sad no matter how hard you try. The more you try, the more it gets difficult. You just have to let yourself deal with it. If you need to cry for a week, then do it. People who say that you have to 'suck it in' or 'stay positive right this instant' are crazy people. They don't know what you're going through to even say that. I've read Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom when I was in high school and I was able to pick up a lot of life lessons from it. I'm thankful during times that I feel down, I'm able to look back on these important quotes…

"if you hold back on the emotions—if you don’t allow yourself to go all the way through them—you can never get to being detached, you’re too busy being afraid. You’re afraid of the pain, you’re afraid of the grief. You’re afraid of the vulnerability that loving entails. “But by throwing yourself into these emotions, by allowing yourself to dive in, all the way, over your head even, you experience them fully and completely. You know what pain is. You know what love is. You know what grief is. And only then can you say, ‘All right. I have experienced that emotion. I recognize that emotion. Now I need to detach from that emotion for a moment’.”
― Mitch AlbomTuesdays with Morrie

“I give myself a good cry if I need it, but then I concentrate on all good things still in my life.”

“None of us can undo what we've done, or relive a life already recorded. But, ... there is no such thing as "too late" in life.”
― Mitch AlbomTuesdays with Morrie

But after all the emotional roller coaster, stop it. You need to feel good again and only you can do that for yourself. No one else can pick you up. It's never to late to fix whatever you're going through. We just have to look at the beautiful things still left around us.

I won't say that my family life is perfect. It has a lot of flaws that you can't even imagine. But during the times I feel so lost and confused, I'm grateful to have people like them who point me in the right direction. I'm not 100% back to being peachy. But I'm getting there with the little help from my boys.

So if you're feeling that nothing in your life is going right or making sense, take a breather. Cry it out, feel it, and then let it go. You can either write down what you're feeling, listen to upbeat music or read on things that can boost your happiness. I can't promise you'll feel better in an instant, but it'll get better. Slowly, but surely.

Glad you are feeling better now, and you are right in facing your feelings head on. Go sulk, cry, it's good to release it and acknowledge what you're feeling. I had very low, crying moments the past few weeks which I shared on the blog too. Time to cheer up and smile!

  7. Good to know that you have started on the path of recovery. God is always with us in the midst of life difficulties. Isaiah 46:4 says: I will be your God through your lifetime - until your hair wis white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you."
