The Halal Guys: Cooking in Manila!

From New York's 53rd and 6th street, The Halal Guys are now in Manila! :) The wait is over for Filipino fans, because the iconic American-Halal street food franchise has made its way to our country with the first store at the 5L, Mega Food Hall, SM Megamall!

Anyone who has been to the Big Apple would agree that the experience of traveling to New York is never complete without a visit to the world famous food cart. There's nothing like marveling at the magnanimity of New York's local scene while enjoying a hot platter of delicious halal meat generously covered in their inimitable sauces. But now, there's no need to make a trip to NYC any time soon, because The Halal Guys have opened their FIRST international location in the Philippines. :) I'm so proud that they chose our country for this!

In case you've been living under a rock and it's your first time to encounter The Halal Guys, here's a brief information about them...



The Halal Guys started in 1990, when founding partners, Muhammed Abouelenein, Ahmed Elsaka and Abdelbaset Elsayed, opened a hotdog cart on West 53rd and 6th avenue. Due to the demand for quick and affordable Halal street food, specifically from the Muslim cab drivers, they decide to convert their cart into the city's first Halal street food cart. Since then, The Halal Guys has steadily become the largest and most beloved American halal street food concept in the world.

And we just have to thank Mr. Jaime Daez, the man responsible for bringing in the world-famous food cart here in Manila!:)

In celebration of its grand opening in Manila on the 13th of October - TOMORROW!! The Halal Guys has a special treat in store for Filipino fans willing to brave the long lines. The Halal guys will be giving the FIRST 100 customers in line one free New York size chicken and gyro combo platter with a drink, all in the spirit of the famously long lines at the cart in New York City, and all in the hopes of assuring customers, that the wait is truly worth it. :)




The price list is not bad, because one New York Size was actually hard enough for me to finish! I suggest if you're not a big eater, go for the solo. :) But if you're super hungry, definitely worth to order that New York size! :) I'd go for some extra side of salad too! Hihihi!

The Halal Guys Philippines is the very first restaurant to be awarded a Halal Certificate by HDIP, who are members of the World Halal Food Council and is the leading Halal certifying body in the country.
