AVA in 30 days challenge:Day 19- Nicknames you have; why do you have them
I grew up being called by three names. People who just met me, my professors, or mainly the people who just got use to the common pronunciation as "AH" would call me, AH-VA. On the other hand, some people, like my classmates, friends or other people as well would call me, "EI-VA." Truth be told, I'm really an AVA (EI-VA) hehe. But I don't mind how people like to pronounce it as long as we get along well.
But growing up with my family, I have always been called one nickname and that alone for 21 years...
AA is what I'm use to being called here at home. If my grandparents call me AVA, NICOLE' (nicoleigh), or even MARIE, I would definitely find that odd to the ears. I just find it weird though, how some of my friends find it funny when I tell them my real nickname is AA. I don't think there's anything unusual with it. I actually like it. :)
With my best friends or close friends however, I'm AVES. I think they started calling me that around first year high school and If I remember correctly, I think my Mom also occasionally calls me that too. So, yeah if we're close, I bet you're bound to call me AVES. :) I like both my nicknames and my real names as well. I thank my Mom for giving me unique names. :)
