Baguio adventure: Day two!
If I have been extremely flooding your Twitter timeline last February 26, 2012 at 8AM in the morning, then it must have meant that I was just super excited to cover Baguio's Panagbenga Festival 2012, courtesy of PLDT and Tribal DDB, along with my fellow bloggers, Pax, Ana, Tracy, Calvin and his wife Tia. :)
What does the PANAGBENGA FESTIVAL mean? I found out the answer through Wikipedia!
" Panagbenga Festival (English: Flower Festival) is a month-long annual flower festival occurring in Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines. The term is of Malayo-Polynesian origin, meaning "season of blooming". The festival, held during the month of February, was created as a tribute to the city's flowers and as a way to rise up from the devastation of the 1990 Luzon Earthquake. "
It seems that the Panagbenga festival has certainly gone a long way and this is actually my first time to go out of town just to see a festival. ( Yes, I haven't been to Sinulog, Hot Air Balloon, Ati-Atihan or the likes... :( ) So, I knew I just had to experience this one!
As soon as we got out of our van, there were already this much people! I think we got there as early as 7:30 AM, so it came to a surprise that everyone was out and about, looking for the perfect spot to watch the festival. Early birds! Lucky for us though, we didn't need to stay in a crowded area, because PLDT provided their office for us to have a stress-free watching experience and to be able to take good pictures as well. We had a great view. ;)
When the festival started, I went straight to the viewing area and like a little girl, I immediately picked out my favorite floats and the first one just had to be the ever-so-popular game....
ANGRY BIRDS
STAR WARS
SM FLOAT
They had a lot of marching bands and also people in cosplay costumes!
Our first reaction to this was, "Oh look! Piano!! Ayyy Xylophone pala! haha!:))"
A little pause from the float to show you, guys how engrossed we all were in updating our Panagbenga festival experience using PLDT's Free WiFi Zone #baguiowifi!
ANA: Tracy, what are you up to? TRACY: I love our free wifi from PLDT! Can't stop tweeting!
Pax was also hooked in updating all her Twitter followers live!:)
Of course, I also had my fair share of non-stop tweeting...
SMART
BRAT PACK
DR. SEUSS
One of the cutest float and ooooh colors!
CASINO
Reminds me of the movie Bambi!
The last float!!! See how much people were there!
With my fellow bloggers and Ms. Arianne and Ms. Ogie of Tribal DDB. :)
With that, I conclude my Panagbenga Festival 2012! It was truly an amazing experience and I can't thank PLDT and Tribal DDB enough for bringing us all the way to Baguio just to cover this and experience PLDT's Free WiFi Zone. ^_^
So now, where do you want PLDT's Free Wifi Zone to go to next?? Pahiyas festival, Pintados/Kasadyaan festival or a major event here in Manila?:)
