Fire and Ice

by - March 07, 2014

I love Japanese food so much. I could eat it every single day. I enjoy almost every meal that I would much on. One of my favourite quick-service Japanese restaurants growing up was Tokyo Tokyo. Not only do they serve good Prawn Tempura and Beef Misono, but they also offered unlimited rice with their dishes. Of course no one can resist extra rice…unlimited pa kaya? hehe!:)) Good food at affordable prices.

Tokyo Tokyo is already a huge part of my childhood and it's nice to see 29 years later they're still continuing to grow. Along with their success, they present old favourites in new ways and big cool down treats for us this summer.

Recently, Tokyo Tokyo has launched two new products that they categorised into FIRE and ICE. Hence, everyone had to come in their white or red outfit. Of course, I'm an ice person, so I wore white. But I'm not a cold person, okay?:( I promise!^_^

At the launch, along with the introduction of every new product, people from the media and press were also able to try it for themselves. My favourite part!^_^ Yum!!

The first one was our appetiser, Wasabi fries and California Maki!:)

It was so hard to resist the Wasabi fries! As long as I could still see some on the platter, I couldn't stop feeding myself. >_< My new carbs love! You should try this too!

The main course that we got to try was the old favourite Pork Tonkatsu Meal, that now has a surprising twist to it!:)

With Beb Ana :)

Meet the FIRE side, the Cheese Tonkatsu Bento! Tokyo Tokyo's Pork Tonkatsu Bento is a big favourite of customers and this time around Tokyo Tokyo has made it even better with a yummy cheese filling and thicker, juicier pork slices.

As you can see from the photo of me holding the slice of Cheese Tonkatsu, the creamy cheese is really oozing out. :) The meal also includes a side dish of fresh cabbage strips dressed in a special roasted sesame dressing and all the rice you can eat. :)

After our delicious main course, we finally got to try Tokyo Tokyo's latest line of iced treats…

Summer is already in session and with Tokyo Tokyo's fresh addition to its line-up of popular eats, I'm sure customers will be lining up to try their mouth-watering Snow Ice to chase away the summer heat.

First they have the Choco Sensation that features yummy brownies chunks with sweet mini marshmallows and a generous helping of hot fudge sauce. Mango Peach Medley goes tropical with juicy slices of tangy peach and tart mango for a true taste explosion. Finally, Halo-Halo is a twist on the timeless Filipino dessert with lavish servings of ube, bata, leche flan, and a sprinkle of crunchy cornflakes.

Among the three, I really enjoyed the Halo-Halo. The mix is just flavourful! Truth be told, the Vanilla-flavored ice is actually good enough to eat alone! Similar to fallen snow, with a smoother and lighter consistency than your typical ice desserts. Sweetened by a drizzle of milk, Tokyo Tokyo's Snow Ice also boats heaps of tasty and refreshing toppings to satisfy diner's cravings. :)

Bad news, this still isn't available at Tokyo Tokyo stores. :( Good news is by April 2014, it already will be!

After our dessert, I actually thought the program was over. But no! There was actually more dessert….

…..Dessert in the form of the Kaya F.C. boys! Haha!:) Meet the newest endorsers of Tokyo Tokyo!

And I just had to take obligatory photos with the main man, Daniel Matsunaga...

I usually get shy to take photos with celebrities. But in this case, i'll make an exception! Avail na avail!

Aside from that highlight, I was also chosen alongside with my good friend Paul as Best Dressed at the event!:) My first time!^_^

Excited to go back again to Tokyo Tokyo to let my family have a taste of their new stuff!:) If you do as well, you may visit the following branches…
