Buttered Veggies
* 2 Packs of string beans
* 4-5 Tbsp of Butter
* 1 Garlic clove
* Salt and pepper
First up is the Panfried Salmon
Step 1: pour in the EVOO into the pan and let the garlic simmer for a few seconds. When you see the garlic turning slightly golden, put in the salmon to fry. :) Add salt and pepper (depending on your taste) and make sure it's golden brown before taking it out of the frying pan.
Next the Buttered veggies
Step 2: Melt the butter and add the garlic into the pan. Once the garlic has simmered a bit, add your string beans and cook until it turns into a slightly darker green colour. 5 minutes before taking it out of the pan, start adding your salt and pepper. Again, this will depend on your taste. :)
Step 3: Once you're done, you can now finally add the cream cheese on top of the salmon. :)
That's it!:) If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask! I'll try to do more recipe posts soon! Maybe i'll do my tuna pasta next!:)
Enjoy the holiday, everyone!

Converse, Inc. announces Sneakers Clash – a
series of artistic installations that brings together top street artists
to transform blank walls into massive art pieces; designed to disrupt and
clash against a gray world. Sneakers Clash is directly inspired by the
bold and colorful spirit of the Chuck Taylor All Star, with the series now
finding its way to Manila.
Sneakers
Clash is inspired by the Spring 2014 Converse All Star sneaker collection,
featuring dynamic color pops and elevated silhouettes to provoke youthful
self-expression. The undoubted hero of the collection is the Converse All Star
Chuck ’70 – a new take on an American icon.
Timed
against the launch of the Spring 2014 Converse All Star sneaker collection, the
Sneakers Clash series will be brought to life on Philippine soil through
#clashwall. Converse teamed up with 3 local artists to contribute to the
creative initiative, uniting these local street artists with clashing
styles at unexpected locations – challenging them to unleash their most visceral
work against a static wall.
Kicking
off the Sneakers Clash Philippines series was artist and designer Chad Manzo.
The #clashwall project will be followed by the next two artists in the
three-man roster, artist Archie Geotina a.k.a. Chichimonster, and designer
Nicolo Nimor.
Archie Geotina a.k.a.
Chichimonster
Since
his Graffiti days, Archie or ‘Chi’ has now torpedoed his interests and efforts
into changing the perception of Manila’s society into what street art’s
identity, ideologies and aesthetics could be. Chi’s mixed media paintings are a
play on the abstract and references from pop to baroque history deconstructed
by his signature “static” style of paint application.
Chi
will be bringing his art to the streets of Cebu this March, and through an
online photo contest via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, will give fans
the chance to submit images of their best memories wherein the winning entry
will be used as inspiration for Chi’s #clashwall piece.
Following
Chi’s #clashwall is Cebuano designer, illustrator and creative director of
local shirt brand, Nick Automatic, Nicolo Nimor.
Keep
your eyes and ears peeled for the next installation of the Converse “Sneakers
Clash” #clashwall.

Open to anyone aged 30 or under, Unilever is
looking for scalable and sustainable products, services or applications that
reduce environmental impact, improve health, and well-being or enhance
livelihoods, through changes in practices or behaviours.
The Awards, in partnership with the Cambridge
Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), and in collaboration with
Ashoka, will offer seven young people a total of more than PhP12 million in
financial support and individually tailored mentoring. The overall winner will
also receive the prestigious HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability
Entrepreneur Prize.
All seven global
finalists will also take part in an online development programme and a two-day
accelerator workshop at Cambridge University, UK, where expert help and professional
guidance will be provided, to help them develop their ideas.
“The Philippines has a strong chance to win this award, especially since the Filipino youth are
undoubtedly one of the most creative and optimistic citizens of the world. Coming
from a country that has seen first hand the real impact of poverty to its
people, a number of these young ones have become passionate enough to bring
about change through social entrepreneurship,” said Unilever Philippines
Chairman and CEO Rohit Jawa.
“Now, it’s high time that the whole world
recognize the efforts and advocacies of the young Filipino social entrepreneurs
to enable them to reach a larger audience, thus create bigger impact and real
change for the sectors of society who are most in need of our help.”
The USL YEA is hosted online at Ashoka Changemakers,
a community that connects social entrepreneurs around the globe to share ideas,
inspire, and mentor each other, at www.changemakers.com/sustliving2014.
Applications are now open, and must be submitted by the closing date of 12 midnight on August 1, 2014. Finalists will be announced late October 2014, with the Cambridge accelerator workshop and final judging in January 2015.
Applications are now open, and must be submitted by the closing date of 12 midnight on August 1, 2014. Finalists will be announced late October 2014, with the Cambridge accelerator workshop and final judging in January 2015.
Last year, over 500 young entrepreneurs from
more than 90 countries entered the Awards. Winning projects included: a mobile
data and messaging system that tracks water supply and optimized use (India),
low-cost chicken-feed made from waste mango seed (Nigeria), water-less toilets
in rural areas (Peru), and a work-for-education swap scheme where the children
of low-income farm workers received education in return for their parents
donating their labour to a farming collective (Nepal).
The overall winner—who won €50,000 (almost PhP
3M) and the HRH
The Prince of Wales Prize—was Gamal Albinsaid, a
24 year old Indonesian, who addressed two sustainability challenges with one
idea: converting the value in household waste into health insurance for low
income families. This inspiring initiative is now being turned into a
repeatable model in communities throughout Indonesia.
Please do watch the video and be amaze. I find Gamal Albinsaid really inspiring, because he was able to encourage people to dispose their waste properly and they were able to get healthcare in exchange. :) We should have something like this in the Philippines!
Of this awards, Unilever CEO Paul Polman said:
“I believe that youth hold the key to unlocking solutions to many of the challenges
our planet faces and last year’s finalists are proof of this. Young people will
soon represent 50 percent of the population in developing and emerging
countries, but they are 100 percent of the future, so it’s absolutely vital we
continue to enroll them in the task of making sustainable living commonplace and
invest in their ideas.”
For his part, Polly Courtice, LVO, Director of
CISL, remarked: “The first year of the Unilever awards highlighted the
creativity and entrepreneurial dynamism of young people across the world in
tackling critical sustainability issues.
We
are delighted to bring the research insight of the Cambridge community together
with our worldwide network of business leaders, to support these awards in
encouraging the innovation and leadership we so urgently need.”

Let's join this and help our world make wiser choices and sustainable living possible. :) If you want another way to help our world become a better place, you can simply start by reusing paper or plastic bags when going to the grocery or using your tumblers when buying coffee outside instead of using their plastic/paper cups. You will be able to help a lot already. :)
