Would you believe that 20% of parents have forgotten their child's birthday? This hasn't happened to me yet, but the number is as high as 36% in other Southeast Asian countries. Right here in the Philippines, we have 1 in 2 parents admitting that they have fallen asleep while reading their kids a bedtime story. Again, this has not happened to me. However, I did fall asleep while reviewing Athan for his exam one time! >_< My bad!
Throwback photo! :)
Has this happened to you?
Becoming a parent is a journey of trial and error, also known as the world's most widely played game of improvisation. No amount of reading or preparation is going to save a first-time parent from a child left to their own devices. I myself, am no longer a first-time parent, I have two boys, but I still experience plenty of parenting boo-boos along the way.
That's often when the most amusing, albeit messy, mishaps happen. In fact, more than half of parents believe that they can't take their eyes off their children, otherwise chaos would reign.
Again, I've had my fair share of chaos - kids writing on our pristine white walls at home, my youngest son throwing my favorite bracelet in the toilet and pulling all the tissue out of the packet, creating a snow-like ambiance in our room! Haha! Oh I can go on! But that's how parenting is! You live and you learn! You're not alone!
But one thing I do not risk or make mistakes of is what to give them when they're really sick or in pain. I make sure to give them the best.
If you're caring for a sick child, make no mistake - choose Paracetamol Calpol, a suitable and effective choice for pain and fever relief.
* 96% of healthcare experts recommend Paracetamol (the active ingredient in Calpol) for children with pain and fever.
* When used as directed, Paracetamol has the lowest rate of side effects among children's over-the-counter pain and fever medicines.
* No other over-the-counter medicine has been trusted longer or proven more effective than Paracetamol for children's pain and fever.
So, Mommies and Daddies, don't fret if you make mistakes in parenting. It's natural and mistakes happen. :) It's learning from these mistakes that makes us better parents. :)
Share your fun photos on Instagram and tag it with hashtag #CalpolMakeNoMistake to make other moms feel that they are not alone in their parenting boo-boos! Get creative! But remember - when it comes to pain and fever, make no mistake - Paracetamol Calpol is there for you!
I wish I could say that I am trying to prepare myself for all these parenting boo-boos in the future (specially when she starts crawling, walking, etc.), but as they say nothing really prepares you for it! :) You have wonderful & cute kids, Ava! <3
