I'm not a huge fan of Halloween nor is it really big here in the Philippines but what I love is planning and preparing for Athan because I want him to experience how fun trick or treat is and walking around the mall in cute costumes. :)
He's been so crazy about dinosaurs lately that his grandmother got him this really cool Pterodactyl costume and this was his costume for Halloween 2011!
Since we don't live in a village know any that will allow us to do Halloween at their village, we did trick or treat at SM Megamall. It was something new for us because instead of houses, we were asking candies from stores like Manels, Hang Ten, Posh Nails and more. It was fun though!:)
After our Halloween fun at Megamall, we went to SM North for my Accessorize event and I found these cool looking pumpkins...
I love how SM is all out when it comes to decorations. :)
When my event was done, we headed back to Megamall so Athan could play at Toy Kingdom's play area...
I've been so busy with events and school activities lately that I lacked time for the baby boy, so it really felt good to be able to spend time with Athan and just see him bouncy and happy. :)

To be honest, I wasn't too pleased with how Cartoon Network and Podium Mall prepared for the event. They had tickets telling us that we were suppose to go there at a certain time. Like if your number is 1 to 899 you attend the 1PM show, if your number 900 to 1000+ you attend the 3PM show and if your number is 1000+ to the last, which is what we got, we have to attend the 5PM one. We were there at exactly 5PM and the show was already about to end. How disappointing is that? To make matters worst, we live far away from Ortigas and trekked that far just to let Athan experience Halloween and what is Halloween without Trick or Treat??? We were hoping that there would still be at least that, but NO. All stores kept saying, "WALA NA", "UBOS NA PO", and such! SO, Cartoon Network and Podium, what do you expect all the 5PM children to do? Hang around your mall and drool over the other kids who already got their take on your so-called celebration? I'm sorry if it seems like I'm bashing, but honestly, it's not. I just what to inform people how unorganized this whole event was. I am VERY VERY disappointed. This day was suppose to be for the kids. This day was suppose to be all about ATHAN for us and you made it the worst experience. I really do hope you plan your next event properly if you still expect people to come and get your invitation facts STRAIGHT and CLEAR.
If I only knew earlier, I would have gone trick or treating with Athan at MEGAMALL instead. Yes, MEGAMALL. We actually went there and still experienced the Halloween vibe. At least you know where to go.
Anyhoo, hope you guys had a better Halloween and hoping for a better one for Athan next year!
Halloween was never my favorite holiday nor did I consider it a holiday. I rarely noticed it because we don't widely celebrate it here in Manila, so I took no notice to it at all up until yesterday. :) After my NSTP immersion, I immediately went home to get ready with Athan and Wubie for our FIRST Halloween party courtesy of Ate Dior, Dallas and Pam. We dressed Athan up in a cutesy patootie cow costume and I know it's not scary, but CUTE! For us though, well we sticked to being casual. This day was for Athan. :)

At the Halloween event, we had some free food and parading of the kids costume on stage. It was really fun. The babies were also in costume. I saw a newborn in a hot dog costume and Hermione from Harry Potter. =p But after that Athan just busily walked outside the club house because the ventriloquist wasn't very entertaining for us. However the Trick or Treating part after was super fun!:) The whole pumpkin bag of Athan was filled with candy and while walking some houses had dirty ice cream, taho and drinks in front of their houses!:) It sweet bliss and surely a great treat! I think we enjoyed more than Athan and Dallas. Haha. Walking from house to house is fun when you know you've got candies waiting for you. =p

I never knew Halloween was this fun. I hope we can do this again as a family next year. I love the treats, experience and most of all doing it with my two boys, Ate Dior and Dallas. :) Well, HAPPY HALLOWEEN, everyone!:)
