12 Baskets Bakeshop
Last Saturday we were invited by Ana to attend a Bloggers Tea Party at The 12 Baskets Bakeshop. It also served as a pre-halloween celebration and though we only had a small group of bloggers who attended, it was still worth while because we were in good company. We got to talk a lot and bond with each other. :)
Where the magic happens ;) Inside their baking area
The owners of 12 Baskets Bakeshop are the lovely couple Frederick Yang and Georgina Hernandez. From what I heard while Fred was narrating the story of how the bakeshop came to be, the name 12 Baskets was thought of from a biblical perspective; of how Jesus fed 5,000 people and the disciples collected 12 baskets of leftover food. Fred's motto for the store is something like, "There's always more to go around." I really like their concept. Very well thought of and meaningful. :) Also we learned that all his bakers are not really bakers when they went to 12 Baskets Bakeshop. They were all trained from scratch by Fred himself. Amazing, right?:)
After touring their bakeshop, we went outside to eat and get to know each other a little better since most of us didn't know each other yet. :)
The beautiful table that Ana herself designed for the guests :) Oh, our theme was Alice In Wonderland, Btw ;)
Ana and Geo starting the "getting-to-know-you" process :)
Geo was telling us also here that we'd get to try out some of their bread :)
While the other guests were introducing themselves and speaking out, my little munchkin decided to already go ahead and be the first to taste the bread. Hihi! Sorry, he just REALLY REALLY loves bread. =p
In awe because the pandesal was too soft and good :)
Following the introduction, we had pizza for lunch and also got a taste 0f 12 Baskets best sellers----
Cinnamon Twist
I'm not really a big fan of Cinnamon bread, but this was good :)
Spanish bread
Too bad I wasn't able to taste this, but according to Gersh, it was THE best Spanish bread he has ever tasted in his life ;)
Egg Tart
The boyfriend also thinks that this was SO good. He loves the mixture. :)
Parmesan-Garlic Twist
I got to taste this and it was really nice. Makes you want more. :)
All in all I think 12 Baskets Bakeshop has really good products. They make a perfect neighborhood bakery. Their bread is always fresh and they taste absolutely good and they also support Sumilao Farmers who struggled for almost 12 years just to get their land back and walked for their land and justice. Fortunately they prevailed and I'm really amazed how Fred and Geo continue their support to the Sumilao people by selling their coffee at their bakeshop. :)
100% Organic corn!
Of course, a bloggers event won't be complete without some pictures and lots of it!:)
Met some bloggers old and new: The famous Arianne of A Plus B in the Sea, Me, Bianca of Bianca Loves Life, Marla Miniano-Assistant Lifestyle Editor of Candy Magazine, Ana of Anagon Blogs, and Melai of Style and Soul :)
Athan pretty much enjoyed being the center of all pictures =P

Thank you, Ana, Geo, and Fred for inviting me to this event and letting me tag along my family. We really had an awesome time at your bakeshop. :) This is my first bakeshop experience, so I'll definitely remember this. :)
