Sueňo Espadrilles Manila: Dance of Hope

by - November 19, 2012

I am pretty sure that almost everyone knows what Espadrilles are and if you're a huge fan of this kind of footwear, then I'm also sure you've already heard or own a few pairs from Sueno Espadrilles Manila. They already have three stores up here in Metro Manila, so it isn't difficult to spot them. :)

As for me, I've heard about and seen Sueno Espadrilles Manila (SdE Manila) for quite some time now. Whenever I pass by Greenbelt 5, I would ogle at the cute basic pairs that they have, because there are just so many colors to choose from. I also assume since they're flats and have been around for a long time that, people actually find them comfortable, right? But yes, I often just ogled, so when I got invited last Friday to attend their second bloggers event at Borough, Podium, I jumped right in! Curiosity in me wanted to know more about the brand and see their new designs.

Hungry as I type this!

The first meet-up location was at Borough restaurant, because they wanted us to have lunch first and without a doubt, all of us were stuffed with the really yummy food served. :) I was such a happy pregnant momma!

After eating, we all headed up to the 4th floor of Podium to see the first flagship store of SdE Manila...

The Break and Walk line :)

A little background about how SdE Manila came to be, they started importing authentic Spanish Espadrilles back in 2007 into Manila and sold them mainly in small boutiques and bazaars. Around 2008, sales were doing so well and they decided to bring a second batch of espadrilles to sell. By 2009, they wanted to take a plunge into a bigger market, so hence in August 14, 2009, they opened their flagship store at The Podium in Ortigas and up to the present, they are the only full-fledged all-espadrilles concept store in the country. :)

Like I mentioned above, I wanted to see the designs that SdE Manila had to offer, so here are some of the ones that I saw...

What is an Espadrille?
Sandals whose sole is made of jute / The term espadrille is French / Once peasant footwear, espadrilles are now designed by top designers / Yves Saint Laurent ordered a wedged espadrille that was worn by Jackie O in the 1960s.

A lot, huh??:) They even carry more designs and brands now. You can find a pair for yourself, mom, dad and even the kiddies!

Visit them until March 15, 2013 for this!

SdE Manila isn't just all about selling espadrilles, but they also support a good cause. How? Through a drive called, DANCE OF HOPE that helps out a foundation; Q.C.P.A.D.F.I.  ( Quezon City Performing Arts Development Foundation Inc.) This foundation gives scholarship opportunities to less fortunate children who have dreams of being a professional dancer. They get to develop their talents, skills and even travel the world. For every Classic or Lace-up espadrilles you buy, Php 100 goes to the foundation. With your help, you can make a child's dream come true!

Thank you so much to the honorable, Ms. Joy Belmonte for enlightening us about this cause!:)

I had so much fun at this event and I'm really glad I was able to attend it despite it being due month already. Not only was I able to see the new designs of SdE Manila, but I also learned a thing or two about their good company background. :)

Thank you, Sueno Espadrilles Manila and Martine De Luna for having me!
