Watched Penshoppe at Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2013 yesterday and the first thing that attracted me to their show was their stark white backdrop and maze-like runway. It's completely different from your usual runways that I see during PHFW when the models walk straight down the runway. It certainly stood out.
Whenever I see Penshoppe stores or over the years that I've watched their shows, I always notice their more of colors, so it was quite fresh or new to me when their latest Holiday 2013 collection brought about edgy styles. It's different but in a good way. :)
Divided into three distinct segments, Penshoppe's Holiday 2013 collection featured carefully constructed garments and innovative designs that push the boundaries of modernity and freshness, and explores the dichotomy between tradition and novelty.
Camo Punk Collection- bursting with attitude. Utilizing denim, flat knits, burnout jersey, leather, the line-up boasts an edgy mix of pullovers, studded tees, bold prints and other embellishments in a color palette of black, gray, camo green, camel, indigo, and denim blue.
Modern Heritage Collection- attempts to return to the comforts of home, but wish a fresh new take. Inspired by rustic British country estates, it boasts a fantastic melange of prints and patterns in textured fabrics such as chambray, corduroy and tweed.
21st Century Romance Collection- an effortless luxe collection focusing on baroque elements, with rich dark hues in variety of romantic silhouettes. Lurex and knits in black, silver, gray, white, and gold took center stage in this segment as Penshoppe paraded a array of jackets, blazers, shirts, pullovers, and skinny jeans.
Penshoppe's Brand Director, Jeff Bascon states that "this is only the tip of the iceberg. Cooler things are yet to come from Penshoppe." True enough, Penshoppe's clothes are really leveling up. I'm finding myself liking a lot of their clothes. I even found a cute dress and cardigan there last month and also yesterday!:)
Congratulations, Penshoppe for a successful show! Thank you, Penshoppe and Buensalido PR for the invite!
