Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs On Stage!

by - August 28, 2015

Who doesn't know the classic fairy tale that got little girls looking at the mirror while asking, "Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all?" or little boys yodelling, "Heigh -ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho."

Repertory Philippines returns onstage with its own staging of Michael Valenti and Elsa Rael's adaptation of the classic fairy tale - Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.

But Rep's version is more than just a simple retelling of Snow White. It features an enthralling fusion of live music with mesmerizing choreography and classical ballet unfolding right before your very eyes.

See more of this classic fairy tale below...

Snow White was one of my favorite Disney movies growing up and my favorite scene would be where she lives with the Seven Dwarfs. They all had different personalities and it was just a joy to watch her deal with each of them. I loved every scene! Now that I have my own kids, it's nice that they too get to see Snow White - a different version, but nevertheless a great story for kids. :)

We watched on the opening day itself - August 15 at Greenbelt 1 ONSTAGE Theater. :)

As always, Repertory Philippines never fails to amuse me whenever I enter the theater. It has this magical feeling to it when I see the stage. :) So happy I got to see this with my boys!

We're not allowed to take photos during the show, so this is the only one I have of the show - the finale.

Another thing I love about Repertory Philippines is that when they have musical plays for kids, there is audience interaction and participation. The kids get to be with Snow White and the characters even go out of the stage. It's so fun!:)

Oh and since this is a different version, the dwarfs also have different names and they look a whole lot different too!

And not to mention, the things you learn from this - In Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs alone, you can learn 5 things. :)

1. It's wonderful to have friends
2. You can appeal to the goodness in everyone
3. Being mean doesn't justify your insecurities
4. Don't talk to strangers ( and don't let them in your house)
5. Real beauty comes from within

Directed by Joy Virata, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs will take us on a trip-down-memory-lane and remind us why Snow White deserves a spot in our list of "Most Loved Fairy Tale Princesses."

Hope you can watch this with your kids and family! I'm sure you'll enjoy it. :)

Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs will be staged from August 15 to December 10, 2015 at the Onstage Theater in Greenbelt 1, Makati City. Ticket prices ranges from Php 400 to Php 600.
