Christmas is the
most awaited time of the year, where we all come together with our loved ones.
From long chats over Noche Buena to unwrapping gifts for our family and
friends, it’s the little things that make this holiday special. But with the
season also comes the rush, making it hard to find time to prepare for all the
festivities and have everything perfect and on time for the celebrations.
There’s a famous
saying that our hair is our crowning
glory. It’s one of the first few things that people will notice about us
when we go out, how we present ourselves and when we take photos. Which is why
we often try to experiment with hairstyles or even hair color.
I personally love
coloring my hair and I have to admit that it somehow took a toll on my hair’s
health. Main reason why I want to rest
my tresses and go back to my natural jet-black color and give my hair the TLC
it deserves by using more natural ingredients in the products that I use.
A brand
that I’m currently using is Moringa-O2.
I’ve
been a mom for more than 10 years now and one thing that I realized is that, us
moms always try to make sure that our kids eat right. No matter what age they
may be, we look out for them every single day. Nurturing and eating well starts
for us as soon as we were or are pregnant because it really has a great impact
on the health of our babies even if they are still in the tummy.
Did
you know that a pregnant woman should have about 2 ½ to 3 ups of vegetables
consumed daily? With today’s diets, lifestyle choices and distractions, most
women go with just a little over a cup of veggies a day.

fresh talents in the third year of Nips Pop Fest, for a chance to win as much
as Php 100,000 cash prize.

at hearts an outlet where they can share their flair for music to a wide
audience. This year’s contest invites solo singers and bands to join the search

Being a teacher has
got to be one of the hardest but most fulfilling job that anyone can have. They
are our second parents once we leave our homes and they dedicate each day to
our learning without expecting anything in return. I personally had my share of
this experience when I taught at an all-girls school for three years. It may
have its challenges, but being able to see how you touched the lives of your
students or form a bond with them is truly rewarding. ♥
Aside from teaching
myself, I’m also very thankful and grateful to all the teachers I had during my
years in school. They not only guided me academically but in my personal life
as well.
Being busy is an
understatement when you’re a mom – juggling taking the kids to school, fetching
them, helping them with their homework, doing the grocery, cooking and so much
more. There are just so many things that you have to do on a daily and that doesn’t
even include the things that I also want to accomplish for myself. This is the
main reason why ‘ME-TIME’ is
something most moms would consider a luxury, even if that meant us having only a
few minutes a day to do our skincare routine.
I personally do a lot
of multi-tasking and being able to achieve skincare and the tasks that I have
on-hand would be the dream! Fortunately, I have found a new love in Olay Magnemask Sheet Mask!
When it comes to
mealtime and our kids, I’m sure I am not the only one that struggles with
feeding. It can be times that they are distracted with schoolwork, playtime or
worst the picky eaters. But even if these are the cases that we constantly get challenged
with as parents, we should always make sure that our kids still get good and
proper nutrition.
Speaking of good
nutrition, I personally have to deal with this on a daily basis, because my two
boys are total opposites when it comes to food. My eldest son is one of the
pickiest eaters that you will encounter, which makes it difficult for me at
times to think of what he’ll eat. While my youngest son is just the biggest
foodie and will try anything and everything! As a mom, I take both
personalities as a good challenge and try to come up with meals that both will
enjoy. :) To take things on the easy side, they actually have a common love – potatoes!
I don’t think I have
ever encountered a kid who doesn’t like potatoes. Whether they, be potato fries
or mashed potatoes, it’s the kind of root vegetable that every child enjoys.
But there’s actually more to the potato than meets the eye. Did you know, that
potato is a highly nutritious super food? Potatoes are packed with the
following:
·
Vitamin C
– boosts immunity
·
Vitamin
B6 – improves cognitive function
·
Potassium
– important for healthy growth and building muscles
They are filled with “quality carbs” that help optimize
mental and physical performance. Potatoes are also naturally fat-, sodium-and
cholesterol-free. :)
The best part about
potato is you can create so many recipes out of it. The only limit is your
imagination! :) You can turn it into the ever-so-popular
fries, potato salad, baked potato skins, creamy mashed potatoes, potato gratin,
etc. The list is endless and that’s why potatoes are also my favorite. Did you
know, if you keep the skin of the potato on, you get more nutrients? :)
Potatoes USA, an organization that has thankfully brought US frozen, US tablestock and US
dehydrated potatoes to the Philippines, offers a lot of options for potato
meals. The organization recently visited the culinary club of Diliman Preparatory School in Quezon
City to demonstrate the potato’s versatility. After a session on the potato’s
benefits, and a preparation and cooking demo, the students were challenged to
try their own potato dishes at home.

If kids can do it, so
you can you! Instead of the typical potato recipe that you commonly see or eat
outside, why not try to get creative and experiment on recipes that you and
your child might enjoy. :)
As young as your kids
are, it’s really crucial that gear them towards healthier eating habits. Some ways you can try is, prepare them meals
that they love and involve them in food preparations, so they can better
understand and even form healthy eating habits. After all, a healthy child is a
happy one!
High quality US
potatoes in a wide variety can be purchased from major supermarkets and
