Korea Summer Day 3: Going to Nami Island, Petite France and Garden of Morning Calm via tour bus!

by - November 26, 2018

This trip has already passed by so many months that it's already winter in Seoul, so please bear with me when it comes to the details! Now sharing our Korea Summer Day 3 when we went to Nami Island, Petite France and Gardening of Morning Calm just by using the tour bus. :)

When you're planning your itinerary to South Korea, be sure to include these three locations in it and it's already perfect for a one whole day activity. :) Plus, it's easy to get to all of them! You can take the MRT Station all the way to Gapyeong. Once you get down there, you can take the Gapyeong City tour bus and this will take you to all 3 locations.

For KRW 6,000 or Php 279, you get a ticket for this tour bus and all you have to do is present it every time you hop on. There are a lot of Gapyeong City tour bus, so you can expect to ride a different one per location and they also run on a schedule, so be sure to be on time or you might miss the last one. :)

NAMI ISLAND

Namiseom a.k.a. Nami Island is a tiny half-moon shaped island and widely known for Korean dramas shot here, like Winter Sonata. It's 63 Kilometers from Seoul and you would need to take a ferry to get to the island itself.

There are quite a few things you can do and enjoy while at Nami Island. First off, the place is nature at its finest, so you can expect tall trees, beautiful sceneries and the perfect place to stroll with your loved ones. :) It also has places you can dine in and of course, everything there is Instagram-worthy!

I love that this place is so welcoming to tourists with installations that greets people all over the world with their respective language or cultural design.

The time we went was summer as I mentioned, so now that it's winter, I'm sure it looks so different and of course still as beautiful! I wish I could also see it in person during this season. :)

It was a bit of struggle for me to take photos in between the majestic trees cos people walk non-stop in the middle haha! But with patience and determination, we were able to capture this! But aside from this spot, there are also so many other beautiful spots in Nami Island that you can take photos at. You can also ride bicycles here, but I skipped that part since I didn't want to leave my mom behind. >_< We did bask at different sides of Nami and even had a yummy lunch near the Picture Book Library.

See that tall metal structure? You can actually also take a Zipwire or ZipRide from Chuncheon to Nami. :)

After two hours at Nami Island, it was time to bid it goodbye. It was amazing!

PETITE FRANCE

Hopped again on the tour bus to get to our next destination - Petite France!

It was only on Instagram did I ever see Petite France and from then, it was on my bucket list. :) Aside from the super cute french-style, pastel colored village, place dedicated to The Little Prince, it's also a place where Korean dramas were shot, like My Love From Another Star!

ENTRANCE FEE - KRW 10,000 or Php 465 (adult)

If you're a fan of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince, this place pays homage to it with a memorial hall dedicated to it and you will see it in almost all the details of this theme park. I personally read the book when I was in high school and loved it. Being at the park was both a dream and happy experience. :)

From time to time, you can enjoy various performances, like a puppet show at their amphitheater. To know the specific schedule or time, you can check in at the cashier or entrance. The place is also filled with so many exhibits, like antiques, puppets and porcelain. You can even go in the houses! A lot of quirky things!

A room dedicated to actress Cheon Song-yi a.k.a. Jun Ji-Hyun from the Korean Drama My Love From Another Star!

Again, after some time here and taking countless of photos, moving on to the last location!

GARDEN OF MORNING CALM

The Garden of Morning Calm is also another top tourist destination. This 30,000 m² garden is one of the oldest one in South Korea and is filled with beautiful plants and here you will have a great appreciation for mother nature.

Again, this is another location where Korean dramas were shot and one of them was Love in the Moonlight.

ENTRANCE FEE - KRW 9,500 or Php 442

The garden is pretty big, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes for the long walks. :)

They have a museum, restaurants, plant store, coffee shops inside. :) But what I mostly loved are the Joseon dynasty inspired architectures. Made me feel like I was in Love in the Moonlight!

I heard during winter time, they have a festival called Lighting Festival and the whole place is supposed to be filled with Christmas lights! ^_^

How I wish I could witness this too! Next time, hopefully!! Bucket list again! If you're going this winter, don't miss out on this!

Of course not missing out on this photo opportunity! This is kind of in the middle of the garden, so you'd walk a bit to get here.

Waiting for you, Park Bo Gum! Haha! >_<

We caught the last bus bound for the MRT station at around 7:00PM and got dropped off at Cheongpyeong station. From there, we went back to Myeongdong. :)

Finally, that ends our 3 locations! :) Achievable and really easy to go to thanks to the Gapyeong City Tour Bus! :)

Day 4 coming next!! :)
