1 Million Trees

by - August 15, 2011

I love nature. I've been on a lot of outbound educations way back in high school and I was never scared to get involve in these kinds of activities and I personally enjoy just being away from the city even for awhile. I know you may not see me in nature gear, but I really feel sad how the environment is starting to look like a pool of garbage that people just cut trees and throw trash everywhere like it doesn't matter. Its really sad. I'm not going to be a hypocrite and say that I've done a lot for the environment cos honestly, I haven't done much. I love it, but sadly I never had the chance to fully support my own love for it. So now, I want to step it up a little to promote to you all an advocacy that you might want to join. :)

This year the CBCP is organizing a tree planting event and they want the youth all over the country to get involved if they wish.

1 Million Trees is one of the advocacy of the CBCP-Episcopal Commission on Youth in the celebration of CBCP-Year of the Youth.

Their objectives are...

1. To educate the minds and to form the hearts of young people towards “Care for Mother Earth”.
2. To deepen one’s faith by embracing one’s commitment to become stewards of God’s creation.
3. To translate tree-planting activity to a lifestyle that cares for Mother Earth concretely expressed in the daily life of protecting and preserving the environment.

I really think this is a good cause and if any of you want to join this, you can contact them at the ff:

EMAIL: 1milliontrees@gmail.com

I know we can't save the environment in one day, but let's try and save mother earth one step at the time. :)
