A day at Juro Salon!

by - September 17, 2012

Aside from my doctor's appointment last Saturday, I also had a much needed appointment for my hair at JURO SALON EXCLUSIF, located at Fort. :) Why much needed? To be honest, when I started with my pregnancy, I really lost all interest in fixing my hair. I kinda forgot about giving it some love. I can't even remember the last time I had a haircut. I only know its been months and as you can see, I often keep it in a ponytail. It's quite rare that I leave it down anymore. Plus, why bother leaving it down when I have a horrid shade of fading copper. Boo. :(

Which is why I really wanted to give my hair the pampering it truly deserves and thankfully, ARC PR answered my prayers and I got to experience Juro Salon for the very first time...

Juro Salon Exclusif is owned by none other than Mr. Jude Hipolito, an expert in precision haircut and his partner in life, Ms. Rose Velasco, a color specialist. :)

The first thing I want to commend about Mr. Jude and his salon is that, I didn't have the uneasy feeling at their place like I usually do at the other salons I go to. Not being bias or anything, but you know how some hairstylists keep insisting what you should have done to your hair or to try out their promos and whatnots. Makes the experience feel like a sales talk and not really a pampering one. Worst, when getting a haircut, you both just stare silently at each other and you can't wait for the whole process to be over? Well, with Mr. Jude and Rose, I never felt that. :) They were so friendly with me and I noticed the same attitude with all the clients that they had that day. They also gave me a few hair tips and lessons too!

Aside from the easy-going feeling that I had at their salon, I also liked the fact that they took into consideration that I was pregnant. Like I mentioned above, I have a faded/ uneven shade of black and copper going on with my hair. I was only opting for a haircut, because of the saying that it isn't healthy for pregnant women to get their hair colored. I was scared of that. But the hair experts that, Mr. Jude and Ms. Rose are, told me that having a bob haircut and maintaining the faded copper can make the hair style unnoticeable. Plus, Ms. Rose informed me that the process of making my hair black again would involve an ammonia free chemical, which is safe and that hair coloring is bad when your pregnant/for your baby is actually a misconception. They told me that, the only reason why doctors tell us to avoid it is because, when we're pregnant, we are more sensitive when it comes to smell and some women experience dizziness or throwing up with the chemicals. Hence, much better to avoid it if your sensitive or there's also the ammonia-free, like what I had if you don't want that strong scent. :)

Of course, I can't just keep writing about my experience without photos, so here...

See the uneven hair color?:(
Mr. Jude Hipolito in action! While giving me a bob cut, he told me how some hair stylists put too much tension when giving a bob cut, that when it dries, you can actually see a gap (can you say, hello ears??) and that doesn't look good. True enough, his graceful and precision haircut is promising, because after taking a shower today and leaving it to dry, I don't see my ears popping out at all!:) And to think I have big ears and only little hair to cover it. =P

Mr. Jude also told me during our "haircut chats" that he likes giving his clients the haircut that would look good on them NOW. He focuses on their present look and doesn't dwell on trends.

While getting the color out of my hair, Ms. Rose also told me that when it comes to coloring people's hair, she likes to go for the color that suits that person the most and not really what's hip or what that person initially wants. She gives them advises and I certainly am glad that I followed hers.

How do you think it looks?:)

After almost 4 years of having long or mid-length hair styles, I finally had another bob cut and trusted my hair with JURO SALON EXCLUSIF and it was truly worth it!

I love my new hair and thank you so much to Mr. Jude and Ms. Rose for brining back my black locks! I am so happy to see my hair back to normal and healthy-looking once more. :)
