The healing power of Vaseline

Whether you're living in a tropical or arctic country, it is inevitable for our skin to turn dry. We are exposed everyday to bipolar weather, hot showers, air-conditioned rooms, to the heat and pollution during one's daily commute and through all this our skin is stripped off of its natural hydration and moisture.


Through the years my family and I have been a user of Vaseline's 100% Petroleum Jelly. It has been a staple in our household, because it helps heal dry and chapped skin and bruises. I even use this on my  kids for diaper rash! I'm glad that they even have this in a small size that I can easily chuck in my bag. :) 

I know some of you may wonder, where on earth do I have dry skin? Since it's not evident on my face or arms... I actually have really dry skin on my calf. I always have to apply lotion on it and for sure there are a lot of people like me who suffer from dry skin. 

To address this, Vaseline aims to make it easy for Filipinos to replenish their skin's moisture by infusing what is known as a wonder ingredient into their NEW Vaseline body lotions.

A little trivia: In 1859, New York-based chemist Robert A. Chesebrough created a wonder jelly, a do-it-all product that can heal burns, rashes, chapped skin, cuts, bruises, and more. A few years later, this wonder jelly was labeled Petroleum Jelly, which is now an important staple in all households because of its healing properties and outstanding skin benefits, and which is also the very ingredient that is now present in New Vaseline body lotions.

To showcase and prove the healing power of Vaseline, Vaseline took the ultimate test when it mounted a live billboard along C5 last April 8-10. Real leaves were used, and half of them were covered with Vaseline Jelly, while the other half had none. After three days, the difference was visible. The side that was coated with Vaseline jelly remained vibrant and moisturized, while the other half dried out completely.

I, too, was able to test this at home...



Look at the amazing results! If Vaseline can keep a leaf vibrant and moisturized, imagine what it could do to dry skin. :)
