No matter what age I was or am now, I always had the fascination for art galleries. Even as a kid, I was an exciting thing for me and never was it a dull moment to ogle at different pieces. It simply amazes me how each artist is unique in their own way and how an artwork can speak to you and there you can even find history. ^_^

After my teaching job last Thursday, I decided to shake up my routine a bit by going to Century City Mall instead of straight home to see their latest event, an art exhibition entitled, "A Century of Philippine Art"presented by Galeria De las Islas. :)

Went with my fellow bloggers and culture-loving friends Ashley, Pax, Niche, Arnie, Deo, Zed, Jessa and Za. :)

"A Century of Philippine Art" exhibit is a tribute to great Filipino talent, for eternalizing centuries of Filipino tradition and culture into timeless masterpieces. Be mesmerized and taken back into time with over 100 masterpieces by world-renowned Filipino artists, like Christian Regis, Isabelo Tampico, Nemo Aguila and more who have painted and sculpted their names into our country's history.

This exhibit encourages mall goers to take part in history through works of art. The artworks are also available for sale, in case you are interested. :)

100 art pieces were curated over a century period by one of the oldest art gallery in Manila - Galeria de las Islas or Gallery of the Islands located at the Silahis Center in Intramuros. The art gallery has housed paintings, sculptures and other works of art since 1967.

The people behind this amazing project, Mr. Robert Lane, art gallery director of Galeria de las Islas; Mr. Karl McLean, chairman of Superbrands; Mr. Joaquin Tamano, general manager of Century City Mall; and Mr. Ed Soler of Galerie Astra.

Aside from the amazing artworks, there was a fashion show of Filipina Gowns. These gowns were inspired by select ten masterpieces all carefully and creatively brought to life by the CenturyxTen designers: Audrey Rose Albason, Jackie Bautista, Con Cordeta, Chino Del Pilar, Erika Gana, Patrick Lazol, Me-an Marqueda, Edel Santiago, Kim Tiu Laurel and Miel Velayne.

Had so much fun gazing at the different artworks and being able to witness such an event.

The Century of Philippine Art exhibit is at the 4th level of Century City Mall and is open to everyone from September 22 to October 6, 2016. Entrance is free, so be sure to visit while you can! :)
