I think every girl dreams of the perfect proposal. The one that other people swoon over when they see it, something that would make them cry their eyes out and of course, be proposed to by someone they love so so much. I am guilty to be one of those girls, that I even have, "Achieve sweet wedding proposal" on my bucket list. :) I'm a sap for engagement video that I cry every time I see one. *sniff sniff*
| Our first year anniversary :) |
I never thought the day would officially come for me. Gersh and I have been together for officially 5 years and 1 month. In those years, we planned our lives together and how we'll be spending the rest of it. Of course, naturally we talk about marriage but not all relationships are perfect. We had a huge bump in our relationship come our 2nd year. It went to a point wherein, we didn't even know if we could fix our problem or if things will ever be the same again. I felt our spark died. But like they say, if you really want things to work out, it will. It takes two to tango, after all. With that I also realized that it takes more than just spark to keep whatever you both have alive. You need to work on it every single day and know that you're willing to be there through any hail or storm. You have to give and take. Do different things from time to time so you won't feel like the relationship is getting dull. Once we conquered that, we were happy again. :)
Finally, the proposal. :) A few people have been asking me how Gersh proposed to me. First off, we didn't catch it on video nor was it done at a restaurant. Gersh and I always have midnight snacks, so this was unexpected. I cooked for our snack like most of the time last July 14 and halfway through it (in our pajamas, mind you!), he told me to close my eyes and he asked me if I would be his wife. I won't go into further details how or what else he said( i'd like to keep it to myself haha!), but one thing's for sure, I didn't expect a ring nor did I expect to cry. I guess if you really love someone it doesn't matter when, where or how they do it. It doesn't always have to be done it a grand way. I've been waiting for this moment ever since I was a little girl and Gersh has been carrying the ring with him for over 2 years. Now, we're officially engaged and I am such a happy girl. Up to now it feels surreal. Every morning when I wake up, I still gaze at my ring and the feeling that it has on my finger.
Thank you again to our friends who have been thoughtfully and continuously leaving sweet messages, comments, tweets and texts with regards to our engagement. You've all witnessed how far we've come and it means a lot to us that you have been a part of that. :) Love you, guys!!^_^
I am engaged to the man I love the most and soon to be, Mrs. Ava Te-Zabat. Sounds really good to me! Oh and we also have another good news along the way. Will blog about that soon. ;)
