A visit to Affinity Dental Clinic.♥

When it comes to doctor appointments and check-ups, my husband and I try to make sure that my kids are up to date, so that they are always in their best health. But I must confess that lately, there was one thing that we neglected a bit and that is a visit to the dentist. Tsk! >_<
Growing up, my mom would make sure I always got my teeth checked and thankfully, my high school also made sure we had squeaky clean choppers. My husband also grew up with a family dentist too, but on our own as a family, we never really had the chance to find a clinic we could go to. Thankfully though, that is no longer a problem! Because recently, we discovered Affinity Dental Clinic and how perfect that is near our house, the husband's work + the boys' school. ^_^

It was so timely for us to visit Affinity Dental Clinic cos recently, my son Athan has been complaining that one of his teeth is starting to hurt. The culprit of eating too much mints and chocolates, unfortunately. :( So, immediately booked him an appointment and the moment we got in their clinic, you can already feel the welcoming ambiance. It wasn't like the dental clinic I went to growing up. They had such a posh interior that felt relaxing. :)

Since this was both our first time at Affinity Dental, we filled up a patient record form for the dentist to know our dental history better. :)
First up on the chair was me. I was examined by Dr. Don Vito-Cruz and since it has been awhile since my last cleaning, he recommended that I had that done. My teeth felt so light and spotless after the cleaning! Much needed! He was really friendly and informed me that my teeth are in good shape. The only thing I had to worry about was my wisdom teeth. I currently don't feel any discomfort whatsoever with it, but I'm glad he was able to advice me on the necessary precautions that I had to do. :)
Next up was Athan! Before this day, he was actually really scared. He kept asking me over and over again what they were going to do to his teeth and will it hurt. I normally don't sugarcoat things for my kids cos I don't want them to have trust issues. So, I told him that I wasn't really sure yet, but the dentist will surely make him feel better.

And what I thought was going to be a tear-filled and overwhelming dentist visit for Athan, turned out to be the exact opposite. :) He initially got excited with the sea themed room and the fact that Affinity Dental Clinic offered Netflix, so he could watch his favorite shows. :) This was a huge relief for me, because he wouldn't be thinking about his teeth and his attention will be easily diverted to the screen!
Aside from that, his dentist was also very friendly and even gave in to whatever show he wanted to watch. >_< During this time, he was carefree while his teeth was being cleaned.

They also recommended to have Athan's teeth x-rayed just so that they can understand the problem with his upper tooth. Just have to wait for the next step!
Oh and in case you didn't know, mommas! We were told by Athan's dentist that as soon as your kid or baby starts growing their teeth, you should already bring them to the dentist. :)

I'm really glad we decided to go for Affinity Dental Clinic as our dental clinic of choice. They surely did not disappoint on our first visit and surpassed expectations. They provided us with excellent service, we felt comfortable all throughout our procedures and best of all, even my son trusts them and didn't show a single sign of fear. :)
The visit also made me realize how extremely important dental health is to us. Good oral and dental hygiene doesn't end with just religiously brushing your teeth. You also need to visit your dentist regularly to avoid built-up of plaque and of course, to keep your teeth and gums in tip-top shape long term. Plus, this is also a way for your kids to develop healthy habits. ;)
