ARTSY FARTSY AVA: love buddy

When I started this particular blog (I started several before settling here: Xanga, Vox, Wordpress, Tumblr), I did it for the purpose of sharing my pregnancy and motherhood stories about Athan because during that time, I was just often at home and since writing is a love of mine, it was a way for me to express my feelings and have something to look back on as memories when Athan gets bigger. It became an online journal and even if blogging has evolved so much beyond personal posts, I still can't help but return to this platform to share my family life like before. :)
Since I wanna go back to more personal posts, I want to talk about my pregnancy journey!

Another year means another round of our much awaited toy event of the year - TOYCON!♥ My family and I really look forward to this. The moment we learn about the schedule of it, we already have that particular weekend reserved. :)
For this year's TOYCON, it was held last June 28-30, 2019 and fortunately, I was able to go to Day 1 with my friends and Day 2 with my family!

August 10, 2019

Ever since 2016, the Hubby and I have been an avid fan of going to TOYCON and we always look forward to this every year. :) For 2018, TOYCON is happening from June 8-10. We had the chance to go on the first day since the Hubby has a two week break before he starts at his new job, so this was perfect! Going on the first day has its perks cos you get dibs on photos and seeing everything. Plus, it isn't as congested as the weekend. :)
If kids have the park or toy store as their 'playground', this 3 day pop culture event is our adult version of playground and here's a glimpse of this year's TOYCON POPLIFE FanXperience at SMX! ^_^

June 10, 2018

Being 27 and my husband 30 years old has never stopped us from being kids at heart. We love toys very much and a trip to the mall is never complete without a visit to the toy store! :)
When it comes to toys, my husband is more of a Lego and Gundam collector, while I'm into Disney and Funko Pops. Though, occasionally I also love collecting the mascots of certain Lego Minifigure series. :) Our favorite ground to search for new and cool toys is Greenhills. That place has so many stores that cater to different kinds of collectors. We never get tired of the place. Even our kids love it there! ^_^
So, imagine when it was announced that ToyCon 2016 was going to happen this June 10-12, 2016! It's the same week as our 9th Anniversary and thought this would be the perfect way to celebrate it.

June 12, 2016

I know Valentine's Day has already passed, but I realized that I haven't had the chance to blog about how I celebrated it with my husband this year! We've had a total of 9 Valentine's Day dates and so far, this 2016 is my favorite one. :)

February 23, 2016

I have been so caught up in backlogs lately that I haven't had the chance to do personal posts and I miss that a lot. Blogging just wouldn't be the same without the important parts of my life in it. :)
Do you, guys feel the same way when you blog? Like, you have to inject a bit of randomness to it or something that felt more 'you'? :) I hope I'm not the only one!
Before June officially comes to a close, I wanna blog about how the Hubby and I spent our 8th Anniversary as a couple last June 12.♥

How does it feel to be in a relationship this long?

June 30, 2015

Last June 12, the Hubby and I celebrated our 6th year as a couple. We may be married for 6 months already and of course we also consider that, but we still count our boyfriend-girlfriend anniversary. :) And from the first time we had our anniversary, we always ate at Sbarro. But for our 6th year, Gersh planned out something different and he actually fulfilled one of my personal bucket list for 2013 and that is to eat at Sakae Sushi!:)

We both love Japanese food, but he's more on the Tempura and Rice side of Sushi, while I love both and Sashimi as well!^_^ Their buffet is Php 399 per adult and with that you already have miso soup and bottomless green tea (I like this a lot!). :) Their serving of Sushi is so quick and fun, because the have this conveyor belt! My sushi dream!^_^ At first I thought, I could eat a plate tower of Sushi since that's the only thing that they were serving for the buffet. But it's quite heavy and not to mention healthy!

First time I used my Instax Mini 8!:) Perfect day!

After our scrumptious lunch, we watched Man of Steel and oh my heart! Henry Cavill. ♥ v♥ Haha! It was a happy day and anniversary celebration well spent! Thank you so much to the Hubby for an awesome date! I love you!

June 15, 2013

After quite awhile of taking my outfit photos outdoors, I now had to bring it indoors due to the extremely bipolar weather we're having. Just when I left the house this noontime, it was sunny and come my dismissal and on our way to Gateway, the rain started pouring real hard. But despite the gloomy weather, I still went for a bright ensemble. :) Keep it happy!

Good thing Gateway also had an area inside where I could take my outfit pictures and didn't compromise with how clear I wanted the photos to be. :)

Since I didn't have any prints on my clothes, I went for my gorgeous and dainty shorts. I got a couple of stares from people while commuting in them. I think they loved how cute it is too! I think lace shorts goes pretty well with denim, don't you? It creates an edgy yet sweet look. :)

Had late lunch at Taco Bell, Played at TimeZone with the Hubby while waiting for our movie time. Then watched OZ The Great and Powerful. :)

So the Hubby and I went to Gateway after my class to have our "US" time. I believe it's very important that even if you have kids already that you don't forget to bond. I know you may get the guilty feeling of leaving your kids. But you really need to have your alone time as couple, so that you can talk properly, connect with each other and maintain the "spark" or romance alive. After all, how can you be a happy family and good parents if you don't have a strong bond as partners, right?:) So, keep the love flowing!;) Schedule date nights even once every two weeks. :)
Had a nice Saturday. Hope you all did too!:)

I have been trying to find the perfect excuse and outfit to wear these hidden wedge sneakers again. I'm so glad that aside from my first attempt at wearing it with shorts, I found out that they also look good with skirts. :) Now it makes me wonder how they'll look in pants?;) Can't get enough of them!
Wore this to all our Sunday activities--Attended a kiddie party, heard mass with the hubby and Ate dinner out to celebrate the hubby's 27th birthday. :)

We had a nice and simple dinner at Aria Cucina with the boys. :) I also baked a cake for the hubby for the first time!

Like I said on my Instagram, it may not be the fanciest, but it surely is made out of love. :) Happy happy birthday, Love Buddy! May all your wishes come true. We love you!♥

February 26, 2013

Attended another Saturday class today. Reason why my bag up there is a backpack. The class was an hour and a half of math lectures and it's not something I look forward to, especially on a weekend. But I don't want to be absent for it either. Better to go to class all the time than repeat, right? But fortunately after my class, I had something to be excited for, because the hubby was waiting for me. :)

It's quite rare that I get to live up to my blog name literally, so when given the opportunity, I really would! Got this cute paint splattered shorts the other day and I knew I just had to pair it with my old paint splattered top from Taiwan. Perfect match and very Arsty Fartsy Ava! Agree?:)
Oh and have you seen my new arm candy?? I saw this cute Bizu cat bracelet when I accompanied Athan at the toy store and the kid in me ended up not only getting Athan a toy, but me as well!=P I can't help it! It's so cute and I assembled it myself(proud? lol:)) ). Now, can I still consider this as an arm party?:D Don't judge meeeee!:))

Another reason why I was looking forward to this day was because of my Saturdate/ Valentine's Date with the hubby. I know, I know, Valentine's Day was last Thursday. But we were so busy with our own schedules that we weren't able to celebrate it that much. So, after my class, we went to Megamall and had lunch at Almon Marina. :)

After our yummy lunch, we watched a move; Safe Haven. If you read the book by Nicholas Sparks, then you already know the story. I enjoyed the film as well. I won't give any details cos I don't wanna spoil it. Watch it if you still haven't!:)
Thank you to my hubby for the wonderful time!♥:)
How was YOUR Saturday??:)

Whenever I get asked how does it feel that I am now married and already, "Mrs. Zabat" I seriously don't feel the change. Of course, I am happier that we're officially husband and wife. But, maybe I don't feel any drastic changes because, Gersh and I already treat each other like husband and wife way before, that being married just now after 5 years feels so natural. :) Nonetheless, I am still excited to blog about our wedding day!
Our unconventional wedding outfit. :) Turquoise is our theme! Civil rites doesn't take much time. In less than 30 minutes you're done. But even if that's the case, we made sure it was a day to remember and celebrate it in a quirky manner.

So, yes, last January 11, 2013, Gersh and I tied the knot in a simple civil wedding celebration at Pasay City Hall. So thankful that the people we invited came despite it being a Friday morning. Thankful that they took the time out of their busy day to be with us. :)

Happy to have my family, friends, ninongs, ninangs and the man I love beside me. :)
Saying our, "I do's!"...

I never got to say this during our wedding, but I know I mention often how blessed I am to have found a man so dedicated, loving, patient, understanding to me and a great father to his kids. We have been together for so long and I thank God every time that you have remained to be that man and I hope you never change. Thank you for tolerating my kiddie ways, laughing at my corny jokes and for always supporting the things I want to pursue. I can honestly say that my day is never complete without talking to you. Our late night chats and midnight snacks are great night caps. You are not only my husband, but you are also my best friend. I have found someone I can be totally be myself with and no matter how crazy or silly I get, I know I wouldn't be judged. I have made so many bad decisions in life, but replying to your text for the very first time and saying "YESH" to being your girlfriend were the best decisions in my life, because I have you and our two beautiful boys. We have faced a lot of challenges in the past and because of all those, I know I am in the right place with the right man. Being now married, we have plenty more to challenges, but together in harmony we can conquer them for sure. I love you so much and that will always stay the same. :)

Our contract signing together with our ninongs, ninangs and witnesses. :)

"Just Married!";)

Super thank you to my girls, Ana and Pax for making it to our special day, despite asking day before the wedding. You don't know how much it means to me! I love you both!! Bonding session soon!

After the wedding, we had a mini celebration/reception at Super Bowl, Mall of Asia...

Wasn't able to take much photo of the other food, because of hunger and realizing late that I wasn't able to take photos.=P

No matter how old Athan and Asher are by the time we have our church wedding, they'll still be our ring and bible bearer!^_^
Thank you so much to my Beb Ana for this lovely wedding gift. Super love!!...

Mr. and Mrs. Zabat - 1/13/2013. ♥
Still trying to get used to being Mrs. A to Z, but I am loving every minute of it! Now, it's time to do some major saving for our church wedding!!
